jamal moulay: echo trap

Pro-Tez continues to explore deep and dubby sounds influenced by Detroit and Basic Channel. A solid four-track EP from the very productive Jamal Moulay opens up this release with two compositions "Mocrobot" and "Data Funk" -- a production that makes overt disco references with its splashy snares, muted guitar funk and retro synth usage. The B-side is a little more in line with Detroit/Basic Channel -styled techno, mixing spacey synths with soulful gestures and mesmerizing dub chords.
