RAAM throws down another EP, Raam 8.8 with techno-fueled heaters. Things kick into gear with "8." Minimal and rolling synth lines and quivering high hats over a steadfast kick drum creates a steely techno banger. Next up is "16" where washy synths work over crunchy drum work that generates a driving, dub-techno feel. On the Flip 8 gets a remix from Dold (Arsenik, Blue Hour); sci-fi synth sounds shimmer over haunting pads on this smashing techno bomb. The last two tracks are built on layers of cycling, swirling drones, noise, and rasping hiss that is echoing into eternity.
