With this third issue vinyl only series, Ante-Rasa stalwart Roebin de Freitas brings some of his immersive and headstrong signature techno. Title track ‚Hatched Qtd2’ weaves its way through noise bursts, Japanese spoken word, drone sweeps and eerie percussion. That reads like it’s a handful yet Roebin tames the beast masterfully. Canadian duo Orphx bring their idiosyncratic view of techno to the table by taking elements from the original and translating those into a patented mechanical groove. On the flip ,Duru, is far from obvious. A kick drum lacking low frequencies seems to drag the track along when suddenly it gets pummeled by a two-step sub kick with the potency to blast your rib cage whole. ‚Slant’ is yet another unconventional techno track. A faint granular sweep moves along in the background as it were a backlash from cracking of the bullwhip that is the kick drum.
