Four archive tracks of strange and melancholic pop from Crammed Discs' singer, Sonoko. Sonoko appeared on It's a Crammed, Crammed World! 2 compilation on Crammed Discs (1987), which was followed by her La Débutante album (1987) -- produced by Colin Newman and Aksak Maboul -- and one 7" (1988). Sonoko continued to live and study in Paris for a while, but when her music career didn't take off the way she'd thought it might, she moved back to her home in Kyoto. If it wasn't for Jan Van den Broeke, these recordings would be lost. The label has this to say about the music: "Japanese/French, girlish, mysterious, sensual, always longing, a bit out of this world, but in a way also open and frank..." All tracks produced in the early 2000s.
