Killing Time is all the record Terry Malts fans could have hoped for, and more. Filled to bursting with fourteen classic tunes, there is more rambunctious guitar, rolling drums and funny/smart lyrics than we've heard on a punk record in ages. From the driving grit of "Not Far From It" through the revved-up pop of "Tumble Down" to the Ramones-y "I'm No Good For You," Killing Time just keeps on coming. Those early singles are here in re-recorded form, and the mixing from Monte Vallier (Swell, Half Church, Weekend) is punchier, louder and clearer than ever. "No Sir, I'm Not A Christian" is possibly the catchiest statement of atheism we've ever heard, 1:35 of self-determination. "I'm Neurotic" still thrills with it's rattling backbeat and pounding, tension/release structure. "Nauseous" is simply flawless punk-pop, and "I Do" might be the best love song for the black generation since Buzzcocks stopped putting out a new single every 6 weeks.
