The second volume of Der Zeltweg - Italian Tapes Industrial Music 1982-1984, documenting the legendary Musumeci's Der Zeltweg tape label, which existed for a few years in the early '80s. While the A-side collects music produced by some of Musumeci's side projects (Errata-S-Corrige, Gasdehyde, Herpes-Z) introduced in the first volume of Der Zeltweg (2015) (plus a previously unreleased early Musumeco studio track), the B-side contains the first full reissue of the Il Fantasma della Libertà tape by The Psychopathic Blossom (Der Zeltweg 002), an unexpected, experimental guitar-bass-noise album permeated with Italian-language philosophical declamations and short, pulsating rhythms. For a brief moment Turin was Italy's Sheffield, producing an astonishing number of DIY electronic groups. In the context of a wider Europe, Italy has never been thought of as a hotbed of minimal electronic music, but Mannequin's Danza Meccanica: Italian Synth Wave compilations have shone a light on a scene that was relatively unknown even within Italy's borders. Musumeci is one of the label's most obscure discoveries, but its combined reissue of Musumeci's two super-rare demo tapes was just the beginning.
