Bas Amro can be quite the chameleon, having acquired a mastery of various sub-genres of electronic music. Already a veteran of Wolfskuil Limited, Bas Amro returns for his sophomore EP on the label, Imposter Persona. His sound is deep, profound, and delicately crafted, with a serious groove always residing in the underlying pulsating bass. "Imposter Persona" opens the EP with melancholic energy and a jumpy bassline before "Dissociation" unfolds gently, building slowly into quivering dub-inspired chords, while the rhythmic pads of "Defensive" radiate vampy undertones that toy with house percussion.
