*rsd 2015* Afrobeat, psychedelia, and deep funk grooves on this facsimile reissue of a 1970 single by the mighty Orlando Julius and His Modern Aces. A few years into his music career, in the late 1960s, Nigerian superstar Orlando Julius expanded his band and began to explore an increasingly deeper, funkier highlife fusion, responding to rock, psychedelia, and the funk grooves that were coming from the USA, as well as Fela Kuti's new Afrobeat direction. The two tracks featured on this 1970 single are wonderful examples of that constantly evolving sound, getting mellower, rootsier, and always profoundly hip shaking.
