Øyvind Morken ventures into the functional aspects of dance music for his Invisible Objects EP. "Invisible Objects" repeats catchy melodic phrases over driving rhythm sections before the main melodic phrase drifts off its central pitch in a woolly distraction from the precise rhythm section. The Theramin-like motif of "Unholy Trance" creates a hazy B-movie aesthetic against the backdrop of a primal pulse. The lusciously serene "New Age of Smokin," a cover of L.B. Bad's classic Nu Groove record from 1989, precedes the final ominous statement, "Dance of the Drunk," which blends an electro beat with metallic bass-stabs.
